Language Learning

Why?

This is less of a hobby for me and more of a long term learning project. 43% of people in the world are bilingual and I want to be one of them, there isnt really a downside to having a second or third language. I am now out of highschool and I do not want my learning to stop here, a lot of people stagnate after general education and stop learning new skills and I want to keep going. Your brain is very quick to learn new things until you are at least 25 so I want to continue to learn as much as I can until im 25 and beyond.

Materials

I use duolingo for a few weeks at the beginning for character learning and simple word memorization, I use duolingo as more of a testing ground for if I would like the language structure rather than an actual learning platform.

I use anki for flashcards after duolingo.

I will use simple language textbooks and audio sources for actually learning the language.

Additional information

When learning languages I heavily lean into using active recall theory and spaced repition to efficiently learn a language, this is actually a feature built into anki so I highly recommend it.
